The level of requirement is dependent on often-unforeseen circumstances or events for which an ad hoc requirement is needed. However, there are several known peak periods each year, these periods include, but are not limited to: o Notting Hill Carnival (usually taking place on the last weekend of August and historically the largest requirement for this service) o New Year's Eve o State Occasions e.g. Royal Funeral, Trooping the Colour, Opening of Parliament, o Remembrance Sunday o State Visits by overseas Heads of State o Major Sporting Events e.g. Football Games o Festivals Other events that can require police officer presence, which can result in the need for transportation services, have been listed below for illustrative purposes (this list is not exhaustive): o Other special events taking place in the Metropolitan Police District (MPD) e.g. Concerts and Shows o Protests o Officer Funerals o Training for Officers
