b2df2bf6-ba4a-44f4-98dd-21e391090d16-145878Birmingham City Council invites organisations to tender for a 15 bed Specialist Forensic Mental Health Step Down Residential Rehabilitation unit for clients with forensic and complex needs. Currently services are delivered at Flint Green which is based in Acocks Green, Birmingham. The service will deliver a step down rehabilitation programme where clients will undergo an 18 month programme before they are assessed with the intention to move on to independent accommodation within local communities. Placements for this scheme are assessed by a joint panel between CCGs Mental Health Commissioning Lead and BCC Adult Social Care Group Manager. Flint Green is owned by Midland Heart Ltd and offers the site for sale, managed service or lease. The Council/CCGs have a preference to continue the service at this venue as it will avoid disruption to the citizens using the facility. The evaluation will be initially based on the use of this site. However if no suitable bid is offered from this site the Council/CCGs will consider alternative sites. The contract will run for a period of three years from March 2017.
