05098d33-cd60-4e34-ac93-1cd9346a976e-106799The University of Warwick Retail Services has a requirement for membership to Symbol Group. This is an above EU threshold tender Located in a prime, central campus location next to the Students’ Union, the current rootes grocery store boasts high footfall, excellent connections to various parts of campus and a wide variety of products to meet student and staff needs. The Hot Food counter serves products baked off on the premises, such as sausage rolls, pizza and baguettes, and there is a salad bar and fresh baked bread also on offer. The rest of the store sells everything one would need to be self-sufficient on campus including a substantial range of authentic imported Asian foods to accommodate international students’ needs and a ‘free from’ range for differing dietary requirements. Sharing the unit is the campus Post Office offering all of the basic services including foreign currency and MoneyGram. A dedicated stationery area provides customers with an array of different items, many Warwick branded, ensuring that everything staff and students need is close to hand including a selection of cards and gift bags. The store is fully licenced and participates wholeheartedly in the University’s Responsible Drinking Group agenda, encouraging a sensible and informed approach to alcohol purchasing and consumption. The unit occupies a total of approximately 7500 square feet with restroom and storage facilities. The unit stocks around 5,500 SKU’s, serves approximately 6,000 customers per day during term time and turns over in excess of £5m per annum. In-line with its obligations under EU Legislation and Public Sector contracts regulations 2015, the University of Warwick will be adopting the Open procedure for this procurement process. The process will consist of a number of stages consisting of the issue of tender documents via our electronic tendering portal ‘InTend’ (full details in Part 1 of this document set), site visits, submission of offers and presentations of submissions to the evaluation panel. *Potential suppliers are encouraged to visit the University during the process (and prior to submission of bids) to experience the look and feel of the Store, to ascertain the nature and extent of the campus and ensure they understand fully the importance of the operation to our staff, students and visitors. The University of Warwick is an open campus and as such suppliers are free to discreetly visit rootes grocery store unaccompanied. However, if you would like to arrange a guided tour of the facility and surrounding areas please make the request in writing via the correspondence function on InTend. All correspondence regarding this tender procedure should be made through the University of Warwick In-Tend system (https://in-tendhost.co.uk/universityofwarwick) via the “Correspondence” functionality. Failure to do so may result in the correspondence being excluded from the tende...
