3baf5068-7ad3-4e3f-b837-322540bd947d-124359King Edward Mine is the oldest, most complete mine site left in Cornwall. The entire complex is within the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site (WHS), containing 16 Grade II* Listed buildings and South Condurrow Stamps Engine House which is Grade II Listed. This appointment to contract a Contractor to undertake works of renovation and alteration will be procured on a traditional lump sum JCT based building contract employing Bills of Quantities and a fully developed design of drawings and specification. There is likely to be an element of Contractor Design work for specialist items. The project will involve many traditional skills usually found in Listed Building work. The works will also be undertaken on a 'live' site with business occupation of the Count House and Carpenters Shop and a seasonal opening of the Museum buildings from the end of April to the end of September 2016. The contract will see the Boiler House conserved and given a new use as a vibrant exhibition space. Works will include a new wet-laid scantle slate roof, replacement of windows / frames and gable louvres, consolidation of the floor, glazed inner screen incorporating manual opening double entrance doors, under-floor heating (for future flexibility), internal finishes, fixtures and fittings, services and external works including drainage, incoming electric, water and telecom connections. There will be a second contract, carrying out works to the Assay Office complex, South Condurrow Stamps Engine House and Events Field which will run concurrently with this contract. Additional information: Due to file size additional information and appendices will be available via the links above from Dropbox. Any enquiries or requests for clarification of any matter relating to this ITT or its contents must be made in writing by e-mail or post to the individual named in section 2.1 of the ITT using the format contained within the attached Clarification Log.
