It will also advise on the use and extent of a policy designation to protect the character and setting of fringe settlements. The commission will comprise two main tasks: - Task 1: Landscape sensitivity assessment to understand the resilience of local landscapes to accommodate development. - Task 2: Fringe assessments to consider whether a spatial policy designation is an appropriate approach to protect the character, identity and setting of fringe settlements.
