8d195ab9-bf06-405f-b333-a91cf1ccb31d-187841BEIS has identified there are significant service delivery and cost benefits for establishing a 3-year Departmental Enterprise Level Agreement for the current VMWare product suite portfolio. The Department has an established and extensive estate of VMware Software and Solutions. Historically each ALB has independently contracted with VMware through distribution channels and resellers. This has resulted in a large number of annual transactions for support and new low level ad hoc purchases. Consequently, this has not allowed BEIS to collectively achieve greatly improved commercial arrangements from aggregating requirements into a single multi-year agreement. The proposed ELA seeks to offer a single commercial agreement with attractive associated cost savings. It has the potential to deliver cost savings of approximately £350 - £400k over the proposed 3-year term from reduced support costs. This saving is based on the number of ALBs signed up to this initial ELA Additional information: This was awarded through a framework agreement; Framework Agreement RM3733 Technology Products 2 (TP2), Lot 2 (MC)
