96dd57e1-0568-4850-b7ee-698f030ef7e9-179229The Mountfield Road Industrial Estate (the Estate) is considered to be a significant opportunity for attracting new employment to the Romney Marsh area in compensation for the loss of jobs from the current closure of Dungeness A Nuclear Power Station (Magnox) and proposed closure of Dungeness B (EDF) in 2028. Phase 4 of the Estate is some 6 hectares and is an opportunity to raise aspirations, optimise employment creation and achieve a commercial return on investment required to bring forward the land. There have been proposals for the Estate to have a purpose built Business Hub and Skills Centre as a way to increase capacity to improve business formation rates and skills in Romney Marsh. Shepway District Council wishes to select and appoint a suitable supplier for the provision of Feasibility and Design Consultancy for Mountfield Road Industrial Estate, and invites prospective suppliers to submit a quotation to meet the Council's requirements - Masterplanning of the Estate including costed proposals for infrastructure and utilities and Assessing the need for a Business Hub and Skills Centre in Romney Marsh. The outcomes from these studies will help inform concept design work which will be commissioned separately. The opportunity is available via the electronic tendering system, 'Kent Business Portal' (https://www.kentbusinessportal.org.uk). Suppliers will need to register on the system in order to be able to participate
