The social prescribing work across Essex needs to be properly evaluated in order to measure the impact for individuals and services, and to inform decisions about commissioning of the service in future. A high quality evaluation will also contribute to the national evidence base for social prescribing, given that to date many evaluations of similar work have not been sufficiently rigorous.
