The Faster Diagnosis Standard was a recommendation from the Independent Cancer Taskforce stating that patients should wait no longer than 28 days from GP referral for investigation with a suspicion of cancer, to a cancer diagnosis or ruling out of cancer. The standard should be fully implemented by 2020/21.
