ed6b00d7-ea1c-49d8-85d6-447b72fce0ee-210321The MIRRLEES MK2 : 16kv MW MAJOR Diesel Generator at Redcar Power station was used to generate electricity during a total power outage for SSI -UK operations. Since the liquidation of SSI-UK the generator has supported the site during triad periods to help generate electricity for the South Tees Site to avoid charges. The generator has low running hours and the general condition of the engine is good, however due to its age and its importance to the site, STSC need to carry out some essential repairs and create annual maintenance routines to avoid costly and lengthy breakdowns and to ensure the availability and reliability of the generator. The diesel generator is located in its own building c/w overhead crane.
