88e11113-e227-4bd7-ae72-be3e3be9a1c2-114246Basildon Borough Council is responsible for the provision and maintenance of various car parks, open spaces, private roads & footpaths and drainage works within the Borough. The proposed contract will comprise general maintenance work to be carried out over a fixed term contract of 7 years with an option to extend 2 years. It will cover car parks, open spaces, carriageway and footway construction and resurfacing, reconstruction, ducting, signing (street furniture), fencing, drainage and gully emptying. All ancillary works such as raising and replacement of all types of kerbing, drainage works and adjustment of ironwork will also be included along with any incidental earthworks. It will also cover the maintenance and emergency works for land drainage including grille and watercourse cleansing. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement. The Council will be considering the requirements of the Social Value Act 2012 within this procurement.
