b2ab1306-a862-41f3-b43e-09ca10f2e807-908111CLASS is a bespoke system installed by Student Loans Company (SLC) over 25 years ago. It was created using the areas of expertise from the company Oracle and its functionality is unique to SLC. Currently SLC have over 3,400 active users with CLASS logins with an average of over 800 users logging in daily. Historically SLC has followed a like-for-like upgrade cycle which requires regular investment. Following a Discovery exercise undertaken by SLC, the resultant options for the "target state" infrastructure were identified as: 1) Rehost on Cloud 2) On premises upgrade After an independent review the decision was made to rehost on Cloud using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). SLC are therefore sought to procure Class support using the Oracle OCI Platform, manufactured by Oracle Corporation UK Limited (Oracle). The agreement shall run for a minimum of three years and include all relevant support, maintenance and licences.
