d0431dfa-99c3-497d-9afb-db063c2246bd-755943PROW have tasked the bridges team with replacing a dangerous structure on a bridleway. The original bridge was removed upon the recommendation of the bridges team after the river had scoured behind the concrete abutments, turning them into piers and putting the stability of the structure and the Health of the public at risk. The new structure will be compliant with the requirements of a bridleway structure (the existing was not). The new structure will be longer to pull the new abutments away from the riverbank. The structure will be wider and have taller parapets to account for equestrian traffic. The plan is to tender for the design, fabrication supply of the footbridge, with the installation being tendered in a separate package. Additional information: This contract was award via the Council's Best Value Form process as per North Yorkshire Council's Procurement and Contract Procedure Rules
