3e60191f-d532-4096-a0cc-f966cfc249d8-847430Kent County Council are looking to appoint a Supplier to carry out Underwater Structures Inspections across a range of sites across Kent. The Service comprises the annual programme and ad hoc inspections and reporting in respect of various structures on rivers and watercourses in Kent. In addition, the Consultant may be asked to undertake or assist with some basic repairs incidental to planned or additional inspections. This services requirement is governed by the National Highways Standard CS 450 Inspection of Highway Structures, which includes clause 3.2.1 that mandates KCC to implement a programme of Underwater Inspections where the foundations and parts of structures are below water. This is to manage the risk of foundation failure from the effects of bed scour. The list of structures has been compiled by the structures team based on historic records of structures with foundations in water and subject to the risk of flooding.
