It relates to work GLD was and is undertaking to support DHSC's PPE Covid team, which undertook a significant amount of 'new buy' activity throughout from 2020/2021 to secure critical PPE supplies for use by NHS Trusts, primary care, social care and range of other eligible users in response to the COVID-19 / Coronavirus Pandemic. As part of this significant procurement exercise, DHSC set up and used a 'joint procurement operations inbox' which contained circa 42,000 emails, amounting to circa 32 gigabytes of data (the Data), containing relevant background emails and documents in relation to a number of PPE supplier contracts.
