Contract is to purchase a system to support the evaluation of screeners for the early detection and treatment for infections such as HIV, hepatitis B and syphilis in pregnancy in order to significantly reduce the risk of vertical transmission of infection from the mother to the child. . The Infectious Diseases in Pregnancy Screening (IDPS) programme, part of Public Health England, and has responsibility for implementing this policy in the NHS.
