1887b4ec-17c3-4f22-a6ae-7172256bbdfe-859937To support the transformation of Labour Market Statistics and the delivery of Census 2031, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) requires a Solution Architect to provide strategic technical leadership and ensure alignment with the Government Digital Service (GDS) Service Manual and recognised best practices. This role is essential in designing scalable, reusable, and interoperable solutions that can serve both programmes, enabling efficiency and long-term sustainability. The architect will help embed emerging technologies such as cloud-native microservices, containerisation (e.g. Kubernetes), real-time data streaming (e.g. Apache Kafka), and low-code platforms to accelerate delivery. A key focus will be on the responsible integration of artificial intelligence (AI), including machine learning for automated data classification, natural language processing to enhance metadata and user interaction, and predictive analytics to support labour market modelling and census planning.
