The purpose of the regulation 44 statutory visits is to ensure that all children placed within a residential home maintained by South Tyneside Council are being appropriately cared for and are having individual needs met. In particular, monthly assurance visits should ensure needs arising from a child's ethnicity, heritage, known disabilities or specific vulnerabilities are being met.
