For Southend the concept of SMART includes the integration of information and communications technology (ICT), and various physical devices connected to the network (the Internet of things or IoT) to monitor what is happening in the borough, to optimize the efficiency of city operations and services, to connect to citizens and employ predict and prevent strategies. Southend intends to progress its SMART ambitions across 5 areas of functionality • Community Safety • Environmental Monitoring and Management • Mobility, Access and Parking Management • Independent Living / Heath & Well Being • Energy Southend Borough Council is looking to select a consultant with relevant experience to support in the process as detailed in the project brief.
