9e14af4a-9a15-49a0-bc6b-05d9a71c3cb9-212301City of Wolverhampton Council (the Authority) wishes to appoint a Provider for provision of the vehicle identification plates and ancillary equipment for private hire and hackney carriage vehicles licenced by the Authority. The Deregulation Act 2015 has helped to facilitate a significant increase in the number of private hire vehicles being licenced by the Authority and the subsequent requirement for much greater volumes of plates and badges. The Authority has increased its vehicle fleet by over 300% since 2015 therefore it is reasonable to estimate that the Authority shall plate over 7000 vehicles per year throughout the duration of this contract, however volumes are not guaranteed and volumes could go up or down. Naturally the Authority wish to look to reduce livery costs based on economies of scale. The proposed contract is for the period of 3 years with the option to extend for a further period of 2 x 12 months.
